LEARNING INTENTION: A journey through a year.
Recall the celebrations during the Christmas holiday. What events marked this time? What customs do you have for Christmas and the New Year? How were these different this year compared to normal years?
Think about the whole year, the school terms and the events at school and in the family - Bank Holidays, family birthdays, family holidays, seasons and special days e.g. Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Bonfire Night. How do you celebrate these special days?
Think also about the difficult or sad events of the year, seasonal difficulties, the good byes to friends etc.
Monday 11th January – record your answers in your book or on the school blog
1. What are the highlights of your year?
2. Who is with you on the journey through the year?
3 What makes it good?
4. Are there any difficult times in the year?
5. What helps you?
6. If you were going on an actual journey, who would you like as a companion? How would you travel? What would you take with you? What would be your reasons for these choices
Tuesday 12th January
Design a chart or a pathway of a calendar year, marking in your own high points and seasons with words and/or illustrations.
