Good Morning Year 2,
Thank you so much for all the emails you have been sending in. It is lovely to hear from you and to see your smiling faces. It is clear that you have all been working very hard with your families and are learning lots. We will have so much to share when we finally get to see each other again!
If you haven't posted on the blog or emailed yet, please do get in touch as I would love to hear from you all.
Today I have added some Come and See work for you to complete and it is Feel Good Friday so get creative this afternoon and enjoy yourselves.
Missing you all,
Miss Wagner

Good Morning Year 2,
Happy St George’s Day!
Like St Patrick and St David, St George is a patron saint and he is celebrated in England. Today I would like you to think about all saints and why we have them. What makes them special?
I would also love to see more work from you so if you haven’t already sent a piece of writing into the school office you will find the email on the contact us page.
Remember to log in to TTrockstars, Bug Club and Education City. I have been checking and some children are reading books on Bug Club but not answering the questions so your books are not complete. Remember to check carefully and then I can give you more books to read.
Have a great day and remember to clap for our key-workers today..maybe some of them will be saints one day.
Missing you all,
Miss Wagner

Good Morning Year 2,
I would like to say a big thank you and well done to all of the children posting regularly on our twitter, blog and also to those of you who have sent in emails to school. It’s so nice to see what you have been getting up to and I hope to hear from more of you as the week goes on. If you are experiencing problems or haven’t posted anything yet, please send me an email and I can address any questions you may have.
Keep going with the work I put up on Monday and remember to check out the foundation lessons on the OAK academy.
Missing you all lots! Have a great day 😊

Tuesday 21st April
Good morning year 2,
Yesterday a new academy was launched for all of the children in the U.K. called the OAK academy. I spent yesterday having a look at some of the lessons and they look like they will be lots of fun and very interesting. Have a go at the foundation subjects this week by clicking onto the link below!
Today is also our Queen’s 94th birthday. Get creative and have a go at making some party bunting, a birthday card or have afternoon tea. The Queen usually likes to celebrate with her family but she also has lots of garden parties in the summer so please enjoy some of the sunshine this afternoon.
Finally, this week I would like you all to choose your favourite piece of work. It could be some writing, a book you have read or a foundation activity from the OAK academy. When you’ve chosen your favourite, ask your family to photograph it or take a picture of you holding onto it and email it into school with the subject
FAO Miss Wagner
It’s very strange not having any of your work to look at and I know how hard you are all working so I would love to see the work you are proud of.
Have a great day,
Miss Wagner

Good Morning Year 2,
I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Easter with your families and maybe just a little bit of chocolate.
Today would have been our first day of our Summer term and it is so nice that we have beautiful weather to enjoy while we are home learning.
Below is a list of activities for you to start working on this week. As the week goes on I will add some more activities so remember to check this page every day. I look forward to seeing all your hard work, smiley faces and hearing from you on our blog or twitter pages so please share and post as much as you can!
Take care Year 2, I hope you are all well and have lots of fun this week!
Missing you all,
Miss Wagner
Phonics
After Joe Wicks there are daily phonics lessons for you to complete through RWI speed sounds.
Spellings
Choose 5 of the Common Exception words to learn and write sentences for them in your books. Practice the 5 spellings you have chosen throughout the week and then complete a spelling test on those words on Thursday (like we would do in school)
Finish your SPaG mats from your home learning packs.
Reading
Please READ a book each day - Using home readers, Bug Club, Oxford Owl or your own books
I would also like you to read the monster comprehension in your home learning pack. You can then answer the questions in your books.
I hope to be able to upload some videos of me reading to you all over the next few weeks so keep an eye out for those!
Writing
This is a very unusual time for us all and we will want to look back on it in years to come so remember to complete a daily diary entry.
You can also chose ONE writing activity each day from the list below to complete based on the books you have read
- Complete a Book Review
- Write a Character description
- Write a Setting description
- Retell the story
- Complete a Newspaper report about an event in the book
- Write a letter to/ from a character.
Maths
In maths this week, I would like you to continue working through the white rose lessons.
There are four lessons to complete:-
- finding three quarters
- counting in fractions
- Measure length in centimetres
- Measure length in metres
Each of the learning videos starts with 4 flashback questions (like our 5 a day) so please complete these in your books first.
You can also complete work on fractions from your home learning books now.
Maths Workout - Pages 17-20
Maths Reasoning - Pages 21 - 26
Remember for any extra maths activities, you can log into Times Tables Rockstars, play some games through top marks or watch some Jack Hartman maths videos on youtube.
