Home Learning Week 7

Friday 22nd May 2020

Good Morning Year 2,

I hope you have all had a brilliant week so far. I am very impressed with your reading because we have earned our first badge on Get Epic!

Today is Feel Good Friday so spend some time doing the things you love most with your family. It could be drawing, baking, dancing, writing or a project of your choice.  I am going to be watching some of the live animal sessions from Chester Zoo because it is one of my favourite places to visit.

This is our last day of home learning until after half term so I hope you all enjoy the break with your families and come back feeling refreshed and ready for more learning in June.

Thursday 21st May 2020

Good morning everyone!

I hope you are having a lovely week so far and are enjoying this beautiful sunshine we have been having. I was in school yesterday and we had so much fun singing the songs on sing up and learning all about keeping safe.

This week it is the Chelsea Flower Show and normally people from all over the country travel to London to see the special flowers and designs. As we are all keeping safe at home, they have put the videos online so we can all take part at home. There are some great activities you could do with your families i.e. making a flower seed pinata, creating your own allotment and much more.

If you click on the image below you will be directed to the page to take a closer look at what is happening.

Have a great day year 2 and remember to keep logging onto Times Table Rockstars, Bug Club, Get Epic and Education City.

Good morning year 2,

I have already received lots of posts, tweets and emails this week so well done for all of your hard work. It is lovely to hear that some of you have already completed the work books that I gave you at the beginning of lock down. If anybody needs a new book please contact me in school and I can provide you with a new one.

Today I have added some Come and See work for you to complete. We are moving onto a new topic all about rules and why we need to follow them. I have given you a choice of activities to complete again this week but if you did not complete all of the Pentecost work last week you are still able to access that by going to week 6 on our year 2 page.

I have also added a reflection for you to complete with your families. You can access it by clicking on the cross below. This will be a nice activity to do to help you clear your mind and start your day afresh.

Have a wonderful day year 2,

Miss Wagner

Monday 18th May 2020

Good morning everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are ready for another week of home learning. I enjoyed speaking to most of you last week but if you missed it, I will call back again soon!

This week is very similar to last week and I would like you to continue working hard through the Oak National Academy lessons and White Rose Maths. There are also some small changes to the reading and phonics so I hope you enjoy them and I will be uploading some Come and See and well-being activities later in the week.

I am continuing to add dojos for any emails, posts on the blog or tweets so please keep them coming in and keep logging into your online pages. The links are below to make it easier for you to access.

Have a lovely week year 2!

Miss Wagner

Phonics

After Joe Wicks there are daily phonics lessons for you to complete through RWI speed sounds.

  • Set 1 Speed Sounds at 9.30 am (Mrs Wright's, Mrs Kubiak's and Mrs Atherton's RWI groups)
  • Set 2 Speed Sounds at 10.00 am ( Mrs Burrows' and Mrs Kubiak’s RWI group)

If you normally complete Set 3 Speed sounds please have a look at your complex speed sounds chart and choose a sound to revise. You should be able to confidently say and spell words using that sound and include them in your sentences. Once you have completed this, take a look at the comprehensions at the bottom of the page.

Reading

I am sure you have probably read all of your home readers by now and I know you have been working hard on your bug club reading so I have chosen some more activities for you to complete this week.

You will then need to click on your name to begin reading.

This week I would like you to read "Memoirs of a Parrot"

By completing books on here, you will also gain stickers for yourself and the whole class so lets get reading!
