Good morning everyone!
Today I have added some come and see work for you to complete. There are two activities to complete all about following the rules and making good choices.
In Learning Focus 2, you will need to read the story of Chloe and Phoebe and then complete two activities.
In Learning Focus 3, you should read the passage about Peter's conversation with Jesus. There are then some questions to answer and two additional activities to complete. If you would like to use the templates provided that is fine or you can make your own.
Remember to send me anything you complete in an email or post on the blog!
Have a great day year 2!

Hello Year 2!
What a half term we have had! It has been so beautiful to sit in the sunshine and enjoy the warm weather all week. I hope you enjoyed a great week with all of your families and are ready for more home learning.
The lessons you will be doing this week are all similar to before half term but I will also be adding some extra activities and projects for you to complete at home with your families. If you ran out of books on Bug Club, I have now added more books for you so make sure you continue reading every day, completing your Times Table Rockstars and logging into our blog.
I will be keeping in touch daily just like I was before half term so please check this page each day for any new information and I hope to be seeing some of you in school soon.
Sending you and all of your families lots of warm wishes!
After Joe Wicks there are daily phonics lessons for you to complete through RWI speed sounds.
If you normally complete Set 3 Speed sounds please have a look at your complex speed sounds chart and choose a sound to revise. You should be able to confidently say and spell words using that sound and include them in your sentences. Once you have completed this, take a look at the comprehensions at the bottom of the page.
Reading and English
All of you should now have new books on Bug Club but if anyone would like new books from school please email the office.
This week's Get Epic book is "Can Hens give milk?" Click on the link below and type in the code ewr5265,
Once you have read the story you need to complete the quiz and then you can complete the writing activities below.
1 - Write your own funny poem about the hens not being able to produce milk. Can you include; rhyme, interesting adjectives, humour and structure it into stanzas (this is short, small paragraphs in poetry.)
2 - Write a set of instructions to get a group of hens to lay fantastic eggs. Think about what you would need to do, what order you would need to do them in and what imperative verbs (sort, sprinkle, hold) would you need to include.
3 - Write a fact file about hens. Try to include a variety of subheadings such as diet, habitat and fun facts.
4 - Write an alternative version of the story. You will need to think about; how will it end? Could it be about a different animal? Is it set in the same place?
You might want to read the story more than once to help you complete these activities.
If you would like some additional activities to complete you can continue working through The Firework Maker's Daughter on the Oak National Academy or you may wish to work on some BBC Bitesize Daily activities. I have also added some comprehensions and grammar activities at the end of this page.
Follow the links above for some fantastic foundation subject activities. You may want to complete all of these or just a selection. Please send me any pictures you have of the work you have completed.
