We would like to welcome all children and parents to the Year 4 class page. Here you will find an overview of what the children are learning about throughout the term.
We will continue to update this page with all the exciting things that are happening in Year 4!
Our class author is David Walliams. Ask your child to tell you about any of his books.
This week (13/10/17) we had two challenges as young engineers. We had to build an arch big enough to roll a tin of soup through. It had to be free standing.
Our second, harder challenge was to make a bridge (The Mersey Gateway Bridge opens tomorrow) with a 45cm span, strong enough to hold a dictionary!
It wasn't easy...
Year 4 Art
Studies using geometric patterns
We tried to use lots of straight lines and repeating patterns with various colours. We used card strips and pencils.
Our Allotment plot!
We cleared up the weeds in planters. Everyone worked very hard making space for next year's crop. We were lucky with the weather - dry and sunny. The compost heap is now huge and the pumpkins are enormous!
