Live Simply Award

Live Simply Prayer – We pray for school communities as we begin the new school year together. May we guided by love to build a brighter world.

2024

As part of our 'Live Simply' pledge and to fully immerse ourselves with the real purpose behind World Book Week/Book Day, there will be no need to buy/create fancy-dress costumes or accessories for this year's Book Day (March 2024). Instead we will be focusing on ‘family reading for pleasure’ Further information of exciting events (including lots of parental engagement!) throughout Book Week will be given over the next few weeks.

Live Simply Gift

Children were given a special gift from St Teresa’s to support our Live Simply, Live Sustainably pledges. They were given a Christmas themed seed pot so that can enjoy watching it grow and celebrate the beauty of nature, even in wintertime. We’d love to see some photos of any successes!

Christmas Cards

To cut down on waste: the children made cards in class for their classmates, therefore it was not necessary to purchase packs of cards for individual children. The class cards were then displayed in their classrooms and each child will had one to take home at the end of term.

Recycle & Re-use:  any Christmas jumpers/clothing that children no longer needed were donated to our Helping Hands Hub in the foyer.

Staff are always very appreciative of parents kind words and verbal thanks throughout the year and families are very generous with gifts throughout the year. However, this year, with the cost-of-living crisis and in keeping with our Live simply Pledge, St Teresa's staff suggested that instead of buying individual gifts, parents may consider a small donation to our SVP mini-Vinnies which is part of the larger SVP group who support vulnerable children and families in the local area. Donations could be given in at the Office in an envelope marked SVP.
