Welcome to our Reception Class Page 2021

Dear Parents, Carers and Children,

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed spending time celebrating with your families.  I send my best wishes to you all for a very Happy and healthy New Year.

I cannot believe that we have already completed one full term in Reception, how time flies!  It has been lovely to see all of the class settling back into their school routine over the last couple of weeks.

Each week I will upload RWI videos for your child to complete,  I would ask that your child looks at each one of these at least once over the seven days.

As always any problems do not hesitate to contact me.

Dear Parents/Carers and children,

I hope you are all having a wonderful half term and enjoying spending time with your families.  The weather over the last few days has certainly turned more autumnal, I have been enjoying looking for signs of autumn on my walks with my family and our dog Fred.  I can't wait to hear what you have all been up to next week.

Please find below links to speed sound lessons for your child to work through, as discussed at parents evening.

Enjoy your weekend and see you all soon.

Have a try of these blending lessons with Fred Frog.

Dear Parents/Carers and Children,

I wanted to send out a huge congratulations to you all for a wonderful first week in school, the children have settled in so well and always arrive and leave with huge smiles on their faces...I think most of the tears shed have been from parents.  They have enjoyed making new friends and trying new activities, showing enthusiasm and energy...I'm certainly ready for a rest this weekend.wink I look forward to getting to know you all this year and developing our partnership to provide the best education for your child.

Have a good weekend and see you all on Monday.  Remember we are here all day from Monday.

Take care

We have been working so hard to learn our letter sounds and many of us are now trying to read our very first words.  Take a look at these videos and practice the sounds we have learnt so far.

Hi Children, Parents/Carers,

We have had a great week in Reception, even though we have all gone home tired after our first full week...teachers included!  It has been lovely to see all of your characters start to blossom and watch you enjoy school.  This week we met our Year 6 buddies for the first time and enjoyed our New Beginners Welcome Service, watch out for the photographs on our page coming soon!  We have also been busy learning our new sounds, remember to watch the videos below to practice these sounds.

Have a lovely weekend.  See you all next week.

Reception 2019/20

Hi everyone,

I can't believe we are already in our last week of Reception the time has flown by!  It has been wonderful to see your smiling faces back in school, enjoying time with your friends and continuing on your learning are all definitely ready for year 1 now.  I thought your parents would like to see a little of what we have been up to since we returned from lockdown, so I have attached a few slideshows of our time together. I hope you get as much enjoyment from looking at the photographs as we did making the memories.

Lots of Love

20/03/20 Celebrating Shakespeare week in style...

Reception had lots of fun today.  We enjoyed sharing all our Shakespeare work with the whole school and loved dressing up as our favourite characters.  Look out for some photographs next week.

Our favourite part of the day was performing our 'Midsummer Night's Dream dance. Thank you Miss Thompson and Hollie.
