Year 4 Homework

Year 4 Homework

Reading homework will be given out every Friday and is expected to be completed and returned the following Thursday.

Children will be given a task linked to one of our reading skills that we have focused on during our reading comprehension lessons that week.

This task will be explained and modelled to the children in class before it is sent home.

All children have access to a range of books from our school library, which are to be returned each week.

If there are any issues regarding homework, please speak to the class teacher before the due date.

TTRS

In Year 4, we love using TimesTable Rock Stars to learn our multiplication facts. Therefore, we encourage children to practice using TTRS a minimum of 1 hour a week. This can be split up into smaller sessions across the week. Children know their passwords and use them regularly in school, but you can also find their usernames and passwords inside their Reading Journals.

Spellings

Children receive weekly spellings and are given opportunities to practice them throughout the week in class. However, children are encouraged to take their lists home, alongside any spelling activities, for further practice at home. Spelling tests will take place every Friday.
