Good morning! heartlaugh (11.12.2020)

Your blog passwords are being emailed to your parents this morning! Remind them to check their emails and log into the blog ASAP to show me any work that you have been doing. It would be lovely to chat to you all on there by the end of the day! Remind your friends too, let's share the great work we've been doing whilst at home.

We are due back to school next Friday, hurray! (18th December) for our last day together this year,  It will be extra special as we'll be having our Christmas Party in the afternoon as well as an extra treat for being this term's DOJO WINNERS!!! Congratulations, you've worked really hard.

I'll look forward to seeing you all again on Friday 18th December.

I'll be practising my dance moves!

Hello!

It was lovely to speak to you and your parents on the phone this morning. I'm impressed with the effort and engagement with the work I have set you throughout our self-isolation period. Keep it up! Remember to keep your work neat and I will be looking at everything you have done when we are back in school :)

Encourage/remind your friends to keep up to date with the work set too!

If I didn't manage to speak to you today, I will try again later today and/or tomorrow. Tell your parents to keep a look out for an unknown number calling them!

Take care and keep up the great work at home!

Well done.

Miss Thompson xx

A HUGE thank-you to Ross, who is our P.E coach, for organising a Dodgeball competition between us and Queens Park Primary. We had an amazing afternoon and after many close matches, our Y6 were awarded winners of the 'Battle of Rivington Road'

Congratulations to this week's prefects! 03.02.2020

In Art, we are focusing on European Artists (as well as studying Europe in Geography) with a specific focus on Michaelangelo. We are working on building up to our own paintings through sketching and reflecting before we choose our favourite structure and pictures to paint.

This week, as part of our celebration of topic in Come and See, we have created our own bookmarks using our favourite scipture from the Bible. We have really enjoyed this topic and we have learned alot of interested facts and read some inspiring passages. Check out our display in school that showcases our versions of inspiring passages.

As part of January's Holocaust Memorial Day, Year 6 were lucky enough to be invited to take part in a workshop at Chester Lane Library. We read extracts from Anne Frank's diary (we even had chance to do some diary writing ourselves!) and returned to school utterly inspired with lots -and lots- of interesting questions!

Over the past few weeks, we have enjoyed being taxonomists in science whilst studying the classification of living things. Ask us about taxonomists, Carl Linneaus and the classification system! Keep checking our page to see us having more fun whilst carrying out our investigations!

Miss Thompson was very proud of the Y6 children that represented our school at a debate competition held at Rainford CofE this week. A huge well done!

A huge 'Hello' from our Infant Buddies in Year 6! We are responsible for leading playground games with the infants and demonstrating good social skills to our younger members of school.

We have loved immersing ourselves in the wonderful festive celebrations and worship during Advent!

As part of Anti-Bullying Week 2019,Y6 created their own contemporary dance routines using friendship as a stimulus. The children shared lots of thoughtful and mature ideas and words to inspire their movements.

Year 6 have thoroughly enjoyed welcoming our new Reception class into our St. Teresa's family this half term. September/October 2019.
